This Weekend

David and I had a really nice Christmas. We spent Christmas at our friend Blue's house. Actually we have been spending Christmas with Blue for the last 3 years. We have been lucky to have been stationed together each move we make. David had Monday - Wednesday off this week, so that was really nice. We got some things done around the house. David started to go through the stuff in the babies room. The baby already has so much stuff and he isn't even here. I already took down all the of the Christmas decorations. I figured if I didn't get it done before I left for the states I wouldn't have time to once I got back with getting everything ready for the baby.

Today I am going to start packing. I can't believe I will be in the states this weekend. Also, I started to clean the house a little. I have been slacking ever since David has been off work. David also gets January 1st and 2nd off. He plans on going to a New Years Eve party, lots of biking and skiing while I am gone. So he will be pretty busy while I am gone. He just found a place to go mountain biking that is pretty close to our house, so he was excited about that. He said he is going to drop me off at the airport and then head straight to go biking.

See everyone soon!

And....dad and mom don't forget to pick me up at the airport:)

No White Christmas

Well Santa didn't make it to our house last night. I figured with this being our third house we have been in for Christmas he just got confused on where to bring our gifts. David and I got up around 9 this morning and exchanged cards. We decided no gifts this year for eachother since we have so much other stuff to buy this year with the baby coming. I made waffles for breakfast today and now we are just relaxing until we have to go over Blue's house for dinner.

On Christmas Eve we opened up gifts from family. We got a lot of nice stuff this year. We took pictures and I hope to get them up tomorrow. For dinner we went over to David's friends house for dinner. It was a nice evening. I also got ahold of my family so I was able to wish them Merry Christmas.

It doesn't even look like Christmas outside. It would have been nice to wake up to a nice dusting of snow, but I don't think the snow is coming anytime soon.

Merry Christmas Everyone! See you all soon.

Baby Update

My doctors appointments yesterday went really well. My neurologist and I decided to go back on to my topamax seeing the risk to the baby is very unlikely now that I am almost done with my second trimester. The baby has delevoped completely and now he is just growing bigger these last few months. Due to the higher risk of having a seizure while pregnant or in labor all 3 of my doctors thought it would be wise to start up again but at a very low dose at the beginning. It will take 8 weeks for me to be up to the recommended dose. I will see him again when I get back from my vacation to see how I am doing and to check my blood levels.

My pregnancy doctor said everything is looking great. My weight is good. I have gained 22 pounds now. They would like for me to gain between 30 - 40 pounds because I was under weight when I got pregnant. Also, my fundal height (how big your belly is getting) measures at 23 cm. They say it should be at 24 cm give or take a cm. From this point on I should add a cm each week. The babies heart beat sounds good too. The doctor let David find the heart beat all by himself and also David got to measure my stomach. It is so nice that our doctor lets David get so invovled with the appointment. I go back in 4 weeks for my 28 week appointment and will see my doctor one last time for my 32 week appointment before we get transfered to the hospital where I will give birth. It is about an hour away, so that will be scary having to drive that far once I do go into labor.

Today we are going to go shopping and get some stuff done around the house. David has to make 2 cheesecakes for Christmas to bring to our friends house. Christmas Eve we will be going to David's friends house for dinner. And Christmas Day we will be going to Blue's house. I think I will make a few cookies to bring also.

Doctors Tomorrow

Yesterday David had the day off for Christmas. His work needs someone there pretty much everyday, so they had to divide the time off between everyone. But thankfully he gets Christmas Day off. We spent yesterday getting some shopping done. And then I spent the night watching the Christmas movies that were on tv. We still have no plans set in stone for Christmas.

Tomorrow I have 2 doctors appointments. One for my 24 week check-up and then one with my Neuroligist. I think my doctor will put me back on my seizure meds because my high-risk doctor says it would be safe for the baby and wise for me to get back on due to the higher risk of having a seizure while you are pregnant and in labor. Hopefully if I go back on my meds I will be able to start driving again by the time I come home for a visit. I can't believe next weekend I will be home. I am really excited for my visit and to see everyone again.

This weekend we plan on starting to get the baby's room organized. Right now we are using it to store some boxes. Hopefully by February we will have the baby's room all set for our new arrival.

Christmas Is Coming

I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner. It really doesn't even feel like Christmas, even though my house is all decorated for the holiday. Maybe because my grass is still green and we still have a few leaves on the tress and of course because we have no snow in our area. The average temp has been in the 40's. I have been watching the weather in Minnesota and we seem to be having almost the same weather. We have been horriable at getting our Christmas cards out this year. Hopefully, we will get them in the mail this week and you will receive yours by the New Year.

The last few days I have been trying to get our baby registery in order. There is so much stuff to choose from and it takes forever since we have to do everything online and can't see the item in person. It does help that there is a parents review section to write about the item. It's nice to know if other parents liked the item and had no problems with it.

We actually got a few pictures hung this past weekend. Well I should say David hung the pictures and I just supervised. Too bad we ran out of wall anchors or they would all be up. I would have just put a nail into the wall, but David said that is way he hangs the pictures and I don't. I guess there is a right and wrong way to hang pictures.

I thought I would put up a picture of our Christmas tree. It looks nice when all the lights are on.

Garmisch Pictures

Here are some pictures from our week in Garmisch Germany. Even though David had to work we still had a nice time. And we decided to stay an extra day so we could walk around Garmisch. They had a small Christmas market that we went to and we also went to a few stores. It was nice to be able spend the day just relaxing with David. We got home Friday evening after sitting in dead stopped traffic for over an hour. It took us 4 1/2 hours to get there and almost 8 hours on the way home because of all the traffic. The Garmisch area
A lot of the buildings in this area have these huge wall paintings.
A lot of these pictures I took for my mom because I thought she would like the cabin look they had all through out our hotel.
This rug had deer around the edges.
David hard at work taping a story about the conference going on.

I thought this house was really cute, but it is hard to see all the details of the house from this picture.

The front of the resort we stayed at
The mountain view was beautiful
Saw this on my walk
The Alps

A picture from the upper level of the hotel. There was a really nice fire place you could sit around.
They had some really neat lights.

Garmisch

We arrived in Garmisch yesterday around 4. It took about 5 hours to get here but the ride was really nice. A lot of beautiful landscapping. As we got closer to Garmisch and the mountains we started to see snow. There isn't a ton of snow here but enough to cover the ground.

This resort is just beautiful and there is tons to do here like tours, restaurants, pool, hot tub, spa, gym and many places to just relax. They have the fireplace going at night with rocking chairs around the fire...very cozy. We didn't bring our swimsuits because I can't sit in the hot tub anyways and David wasn't to sure about his schedule. To bad David has to work while we are here or I know we would be having an extra good time. Yesterday, evening David didn't have to start working yet but there was a dinner for all who were attending the conference. The dinner was mostly finger foods but everything was really good.

David thought he would be super busy while we were here but so far his work schedule seems to be ok. At least we get to spend time together. While David was working this morning I went and got a maternity massage. It was nice but not great. I think it was the lady who was giving me the massage, I just got a weird vibe from her so I could never really relax. And plus I couldn't understand one thing she said. But don't get me wrong I am not complaining about my massage, anyone who rubs my back for an hour while I am pregnant gets 5 stars in my book!

Who knows what we will do now that David is pretty much done for the day. They do have a horse and carriage ride every night I would love to go on. It would be nice to see parts of this cute town. We are taking pictures so I hope to get them up soon.

No Name Yet

Thanks to everyone for all the Congratulations! We couldn't be more excited to be having a boy. David sure is a happy daddy right now. Now I just have to worry about all the activities David is going to get him involved in. Before we knew what we were having David said either one he would have then riding snowmobiles, biking, motor cross, 4-wheeling and skateboarding. Scary times ahead for me.

We have no name picked out yet. Before we were even married I always told David if I had a little girl I would name her Isabelle. So David has pretty much dealt with knowing that would be the girls name. But we could never agree on a boys name. I am sure we will be thinking of a name right up until he is born.

I still can't stop looking at my ultrasound pictures. I can't believe how amazing it was to see all the baby's features. I just fell more in love with him. It is crazy how much I have already bonded with him. At first I thought he looked more like me with his cheeks, but now I pretty much only see David. I know I am crazy. Some people can hardly even make out a baby and I am already seeing who he looks like. At the end of January I go back for another ultrasound, so that will be neat to see how much more he has developed. Right now he is just 1lb and some ounces. Still tiny! But I have managed to put on 17 lbs so far.

Can't wait to see everyone next month!

It's a BOY!!

We just got back from my ultrasound and found out we will be having a Boy! The doctor says the baby looks very healthy. We were able to get some really nice ultrasound pictures because I am consider "high risk." It was so wonderful to be able to see the baby so clearly. He looks so precious and cute. Here the baby's butt is up with his arms covering up his face. Since he was upside down with his butt in the air you could clearly see the baby was a BOY!
Look how cute!! We got a few 3D pictures, but this one turned out the best. He kept wanting to cover his face. I will put up the rest of the pictures tomorrow.

David and I are so happy to find out what we will be having. And very excited to hear that the baby looks so healthy. We can't wait to meet him!

Decorating for Christmas

Wow, it has been awhile since I last posted. I guess nothing exciting to write about. I really can't believe it is already December. These past few months have just flown by. David and I put up our Christmas tree last night. And today I spent most of the day decorating the tree and our house. I still have some more decorating to do as soon as David finds my last box full of Christmas stuff. I didn't want to decorate this year because my family isn't coming out anymore, so really I would just be putting it up for David and me to see. But David convinced me that it would be a good idea to decorate for the season and plus he said he would put up the tree. Usually he wants nothing to do with the decorating. I am glad I did decorate because if I didn't I am sure I would be depressed celebrating Christmas without my family. Of course I have David here and I know he will make Christmas wonderful and memorable. It was just David and I last year and we were just thankful we were able to spend the day together, unlike other years.

David had Friday off so we went shopping all day and out to lunch. Didn't really buy much but it is always fun for me to see all the new stuff they are putting out for Christmas. They also had a little Christmas market that we spent some time at.

I will be home in January for a few weeks for a visit. I am getting really excited to come home. David wont be able to come home with me this time because he doesn't have enough leave. But he will stay busy here with work and he plans on going skiing one weekend.

Next weekend David has to go TDY for work to the Edel Weiss Lodge and Resort and I get to go with. It's a really nice place to vacation to here in Germany but it is only for service members. We will be there for 5 days but David has to do some stories while we are there so I will have to keep myself busy while he works. But there is so much to do there like a spa, tours and many places to eat. I am just excited to go on a little vacation with David before the baby comes.

Wednesday is the big day! We finally find out what we are having! I am just excited to know what it is so I can start shopping! The baby has been moving like crazy and more at night now. So the kicks keep me up all night. We can't wait to be able to share what we are having, so I will post the news right away.

I feel like I am getting bigger and bigger everyday, so I will try and get a new picture up this week.
