Almost 2 Months Old

Sorry it has taken so long to get some new pictures of Branden up, but I think these ones are worth the wait. He is getting cuter everyday.

Yesterday we had a few people over for a BBQ. The weather was perfect, so it was fun to be outside. Today David is biking. Hopefully it isn't raining where he is because it has been raining all morning here.

7 weeks old here
Isn't he just the cutest baby ever!

He loves to put the his pacifer up like this so when he sucks it rubs his nose.

This tree use to be huge until our landlord had it cut down.
This is the hospital Branden was born at.

His bib says, "daddy's little helper" and it has tools on it

Doing Well

Everybody is doing well here. On Friday I had my 6 week postpartum check-up and everything looks good. Branden met the doctor who delivered him and she was so excited to see him. She was holding him and hugging him. She is a really sweet doctor.

Branden is doing well. He is getting huge! We already had to go up to the next size diaper, which was sad for me. We think he is around 10 lbs. He is pretty solid. He loves to eat, but we can only feed him 4 oz at a time other wise he will spit it up. I think he has acid reflux. He goes to the doctor next week, so I will talk to his doctor about it. Everything I have read about acid reflux says as long as he is gaining weight there is no need to be concerned because it is common in babies. You just have to be careful not to over feed and keep them upright as long as possible. If it gets worse they will give the baby meds, but for now we are just keeping an eye on it. We are also logging how much he eats and when and how much we think he spits up. Branden is also going to the bathroom regularly so we know he is getting food.

The weather has finally gotten nice around here. For about 2 weeks it was rainy and cloudy. So I have been stuck inside with Branden, hopefully this week we will get lots of walks in.

Mother's Day

I had a really nice first Mother's Day. David got up with Branden all night on Saturday, so I was able to have a full nights sleep. I thought that was a pretty nice gift. Also, David and Branden got me some pretty flowers and a beautiful necklace. Branden gave me my flowers on Friday, so actually I had a Mother's Day weekend. For dinner we went over to our friend's house, they were having a Mother's Day BBQ. It was just three couples with kids.

This is us right before we were about to go to bed. I almost forgot to take our Mother's Day photo.
Branden is his outfit from our landlord. When he was born all of our neighbor's brought gifts for him. Some of the neighbors we had never even met before. It was so nice and plus we can't even understand what they are saying. But they were excited for the new baby in the town.

Tired Today

I can't believe it is already Friday. Boy the time sure does fly by when you have a baby in the house. You are always busy doing something with him or trying to get at least one thing done around the house. I think David and I have done a pretty good job at keeping the house semi-kept together. At least we are getting the dishes and laundry washed.

I am super tired today. Branden had a bad tummy ache last night around 4 am, so I was up holding him. And then I took a nap at 6:30 am until David left for work. Never thought I would be taking a nap that early. David got the pleasure of changing Branden's first poopy diaper that leaked all the way to his clothes. So I was happy I missed that.

Branden is getting bigger every day. He is starting to coo when you talk to him. And he loves looking in the mirror now when you change his diaper. He also loves rattles and his peek-a-boo books my mom bought for him.

No new pictures...will post some soon.

5 Weeks Old

Everything is going well with me. Yesterday I actually was able to walk around 2 stores and still feel fine once we got home. Before I couldn't even make it 5 minutes in a store. And also yesterday was also an extra good day because I was able to fit into a pair of my jeans I wore before I got pregnant. So far only one pair fit, but I have hope I will fit into them all one day soon once I get moving again. I was going to take Branden out in his stroller today, but it was way to windy. Branden is doing well. Waking up twice at night to eat now. Once around midnight and then around 3am. So that is tough. Really hope he is one of those babies that sleep through the night at 2 months or at least 5 or 6 hours straight. Bought him a mirror so he can look at himself, but he fell asleep.

Stents Are Out

I finally got my stents out yesterday. Even though I still have some slight pain, it was a dream come true. I will have some pain for probably a day or two more from the procedure but I can already tell a difference today. The nurse was shocked to hear that when I got them in that I didn't get any pain meds because most people say they are very uncomfortable to get put in. I guess the German hospitals do it different then the American hospitals. I was already in so much pain when they put them in I wouldn't have noticed. But when they took them out I was happy to have the pain meds because I did feel them remove the stents and it didn't feel good. Once the doctor started it only took about 10 minutes, maybe even less. But it took about 30 minutes or so for them to prep everything. For the next 3 days I am on some pain meds for the burning, since the doctor had to use a huge scope to get the stents out.

Yesterday, our landlord had our trees cut in our back yard and before we had a pretty nice backyard because our yard was surrounded by trees, so pretty private . But now it looks like a huge storm went through and knocked down all of our trees. We didn't keep up with our yard to well, but now it just looks like a mess. We had a huge tree in our yard before, which shaded the yard pretty well, but now it is only 4 ft tall. Oh well...I guess thats what they wanted to do with the yard.

Here are some cute pictures of Branden in his bath robe after his bath.
